Paragon Casino Resort opens first sports betting in Louisiana

October 12, 2021

Sports betting kicked off in Louisiana on Oct 6th when the first betting opened at the Paragon Casino Resort. The ceremonial first bet was placed by former New Orleans Saints, Joe Horn.

Paragon Casino Resort set up The Draft Room inside the casino to be a sports betting parlor with theater seats and a wall of video. Paragon has partnered with Betfred Sports to provide the operating platform to provide fans with betting counters and self-serve kiosks.

The Louisiana sports betting law allows 20 licenses to be granted to state commercial casinos. Thirteen casinos have submitted applications and another seven are expected to follow before the year-end deadline.

Mohegan Gaming will manage Paragon Casino Resort

October 26, 2018

An announcement has been made that the operational partner for the Paragon Casino Resort will be Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment. The casino resort is located in Marksville, LA and owned by the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe of Louisiana.

The formal partnership will last for five years. Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment will be in charge of the management and operations of the casino. Currently the company is involved with several resorts around the U.S. and in Northern Asia. This will be the companies first management contract in Louisiana.

In 1994, Paragon Casino Resort opened. It has built a reputation as both an adult and family entertainment venue. The tribe decided that a partnership with Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment would allow for them to continue to grow to meet the needs of their guests.
