Treasure Island Resort and Casino

Treasure Island Resort & Casino is a tribal casino owned by the Prairie Island Indian Community. The casino is located 40 miles from the Twin Cities on the Missississippi River south of Hastings in Southern Minnesota.

In Dec 2017 Treasure Island completed a $86 million expansion of its casino and hotel. The project added a second 8-story hotel tower that increased the total guest rooms to 788. Treasure Island Resort & Casino is now the second largest hotel in Minnesota.

Twins, Treasure Island Casino celebrate Native American Heritage Night

August 30, 2024

The Minnesota Twins, Treasure Island Resort & Casino, and Prairie Island Indian Community will celebrate Native American Heritage Night at Target Field during the MLB baseball game Saturday night August 31, 2024.

As a special tribute for the event, a custom-designed baseball glove will be given away to the first 5,000 fans entering the game. Gates opening at 4:00 pm for 6:10 pm game.

The design of the baseball glove portrays the heritage of the Dakota people. The eagle feathers are sacred symbols for flying prayers to the Creator. The colors of the glove are meaningful and represent the four directions of the compass: Red is north, yellow is east, white is south, and black is west. The palm of the glove represents a star quilt to mark this important event, along with a logo of the Prairie Island Indian Community seal and the Twins' "TC" symbol.

"Our partnership with the Minnesota Twins creates a perfect opportunity to celebrate and share our Dakota heritage and culture with our neighbors. Sports are a great unifier and events like Native American Heritage Night and the custom-glove giveaway help us connect and build a stronger community."

There will be an additional 1,000 gloves given away to local youth programs through the Minnesota Twins Community Fund, Treasure Island Casino, and the Prairie Island Indian Community.

Prairie Island Indians celebrate Native American Heritage with Minnesota Timberwolves and Wild

November 21, 2021

Native American Heritage Day will be celebrated Nov. 26 at the hockey game between the Minnesota Wild and the Winnipeg Jets. In partnership with the Prairie Island Indian Community and the Minnesota Wild Foundation, the Wild will commemorate the day by wearing custom Native American Heritage hockey jerseys during the pre-game warm up. The jerseys are designed by members of the Treasure Island Resort & Casino and the Wild.

Last Thursday the Minnesota Timberwolves hosted Native American Heritage Night with the Prairie Island Indian Community and Treasure Island Resort & Casino. The annual celebration included a Flag Song, Native American Heritage Night T-shirts, Fhima's Test Kitchen Native American Dish, and a Prairie Island Indian Community Historical Display.

Treasure Island Resort & Casino launches electronic bingo with slots feature

Treasure Island Resort & Casino has added a new electronic bingo tablet with real slot games for players that want to play bingo and slots simultaneously.

Treasure Island Casino opens $68 million expansion

December 8, 2017

On December 5th there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new tower at the Treasure Island Resort and Casino. The tower adds 306 guest rooms. The original tower has 482 guest rooms. The additional tower makes Treasure Island Resort & Casino the second largest hotel in the state.

Views of the Mississippi River and surrounding areas can be seen from the upper floors. Guestrooms feature special lighting, Hi-Def televisions, and rain showerheads in walk-in showers.

The lobby of the hotel offers Island Perk, a place where guests can enjoy coffee, fresh baked pastries, sandwiches, and salads.

The construction cost of the expansion project was $68 million.

Treasure Island recognized as sexy casino

RED WING, MN - Native American Casino Magazine has ranked Treasure Island Resort & Casino third on its list of top 10 sexiest casinos.

The magazine rated more than 360 Indian casinos in North America on architecture and design, hotel, entertainment, restaurants, golf course, and gaming floor, and found Treasure Island Resort & Casino ranked highest in the Midwest and the only Minnesota casino to make the list.

Marcene Hardy, marketing director for the casino, said "Treasure Island Resort & Casino works very hard to provide a memorable entertainment experience for everyone - people who love to game, people who are looking for exciting entertainment options and families. It is also a reflection of how hard our team members work to provide world class service to our guests.

Last fall we completed a $50 million project that would establish Treasure Island as the premier destination resort casino in the Midwest and it is great to receive this award."

Native American Casino magazine said Treasure Island Resort & Casino had the right combination of "hot games and sizzling entertainment" plus family-fun amenities. Treasure Island ribbon cutting celebration

August 22, 2008

RED WING, MN - Treasure Island Resort & Casino cut the ribbons today for its new Island Event and Convention Center, 230 more hotel rooms, and Island Xtreme Bowl.

ISLAND EVENT AND CONVENTION CENTER
This new addition features 30,000 square-foot of event and meeting space including a 3,000-seat showroom, which is triple the size of the former showroom. All showroom seats are within 125 feet from the stage which hosts two 14 by 24-foot retractable video screens.

"This addition allows us to contend with entertainment venues throughout the state by offering our guests premier entertainment coupled with the service our guests have come to expect," said Allan Kronberg, Treasure Island Resort & Casino general manager.

The debut performer will be Tim McGraw, who will appear Saturday, August 30th.

HOTEL ADDITION
The two new hotel towers each feature six floors totaling 230 new hotel rooms. This brings Treasure Island's total room count to 480. There are also 24 new suites, including governor and presidential suites.

ISLAND XTREME BOWL
Treasure Island is Minnesota's first casino to offer a bowling alley. This 30,000 square foot addition includes a 24-lane Brunswick bowling alley, arcade, lounge, snack bar and separate party rooms.
