Originally named Montreign Casino, the now Resorts World Catskills was awarded its casino license from the New York Gaming Facility Location Board on December 17, 2014.

The owners are Empire Resorts, which owns Monticello Raceway, and EPR, a real estate investment trust company. They have partnered to build this $750 million resort at the old Concord Resort site in Kiamesha Lake, New York.
