The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians plans to build a $50 million casino just west of Enid, Oklahoma. The casino would feature up to 500 slot machines and could potentially have a hotel. Final approval is pending with the U.S. Department of Interior.

Enid Casino

The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians have applied to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs to build an Indian gaming casino on the westside of Enid, OK.

A final decision for the Enid casino is pending with the BIA and the U.S. Department of Interior. If approved, the 30-acre building site would be transferred into federal trust for the tribe. The transfer would allow Indian gaming on the land under the U.S. Indian Gaming Regulatory Act.

In June 2020, Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt and the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians signed a Class III gaming compact, which grants the tribe permission to operate Las Vegas-style slot machines and live table games. Sports betting is not included.

The Enid casino would be the first casino in Garfield County.

Enid Casino Location

The location of the proposed Enid casino is a 30-acre site just outside Enid city limits near the intersection of U.S. 412 and Oklahoma 132. The land lies three-quarters of a mile north of U.S. 412 on the west side of Oklahoma 132.

Enid OK Casino Project | April 2024 Update

The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians has applied to the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) for approval to build an Indian gaming casino in Garfield County near Enid, Oklahoma. The BIA's decision is expected within the next year.

Last week UKB tribal officials and Garfield Count commissioners met to discuss the Enid casino plans and the county public services needed to support the project. The tribe offered funding to the county for provide law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency services on the casino property.

The casino will be built on a 30-acres parcel located west of Enid at U.S. Hwy 412 and Oklahoma Hwy 132. The location is outside Enid because the city rejected a proposal from the tribe in 2019.
