Las Vegas Sands wants to build a multibillion-dollar destination resort in North Texas that would be similar to its luxury 5-star Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Sands management is pushing lawmakers to make that possible by legalizing casino gambling in the state.

Las Vegas Sands is a top world casino operator seeking Texas legalization to build a massive, multibillion-dollar destination resort in Dallas similar to the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The proposed Dallas casino resort would be modeled after the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore, an iconic 55-story landmark featuring a 160,000 sq-ft casino spanning four levels, three hotel towers with a total of 1,850 rooms, a rooftop infinity pool, and a massive rooftop SkyPark connecting the three hotel towers. There are also theaters, a shopping mall, and a huge convention center.
Potential Locations
Four sites have been mentioned by Sands as candidates for a Dallas casino resort. These include Trinity Groves west of downtown, the former site of Texas Stadium in Irving, The Dallas Mavericks' practice facility, and Fair Park in South Dallas.
Casino Future
Sands has spent millions of dollars in recent years to lobby lawmakers for legalization of casino gambling. The legal process requires a state constitutional amendment. If enacted, Sands says construction would take 2-3 years to complete.
