Mistequa Casino Hotel

Mistequa Casino is an Indian gaming casino owned by the Spokane Tribe of Indians. The casino is located in Chewelah, Washington about 20 minutes from the 49 Degrees North Sky Area.

The casino opened August 1, 2008 as the Chewelah Casino, and was rebranded the Mistequa Casino Hotel in April 2023. Mistequa features a casino, a cafe, and a 69-room hotel currently under construction. See Hotel Details

The groundbreaking for the hotel was in October 2021. Construction was expected to take about one year. However, supply chain shortages and weather has delayed completion of the project.

The Mistequa Hotel will feature 69 guest rooms, an indoor swimming pool, indoor hot tub and sauna, and a fitness room. There will also be dedicated space for special events and banquets, a conference room, and a lounge.

Chewelah Casino breaks ground for hotel

October 6, 2021

The Spokane Tribe in Chewelah broke ground yesterday on a new hotel at the Chewelah Casino in Chewelah, Stevens County, Washington. Tribal and local officials attended the ceremony at 11 AM Tuesday.

The Chewelah Casino Hotel will feature 70 rooms, ski equipment storage lockers, an indoor swimming pool, and a conference center. Construction will take about one year and the hotel opening is expected in late 2022.

The Chewelah Casino Hotel is the first of several projects for future expansion. Projects under consideration include a new casino and new retail outlets.

Chewelah Casino will add hotel

September 12, 2018

On September 5th there was a meeting held by the Chewelah City Council. During the meeting a presentation was given by the Spokane Tribe of Indians. The tribe wants to build a new hotel and looking for a developer to help them. 160 acres of land that has been put into trust for the tribe.

The hotel is one step of future projects. One of those being a new casino. The tribe also outlined plans on improvements to retail outlets after the competition of the hotel.

A study was conducted in 2016 market. The report showed that a hotel that offered between 70 to 100 guest rooms and a mid-price room rate could be supported well in the area.

The planning for the hotel has been in the works for many years. The tribe is excited about being able to move those plans forward.
