Sky River Casino Partners with Sacramento State Athletics

Sky River Casino is now an official partner of Sacramento State Athletics. The casino signed a multi-year contract on Friday that runs through June 2027.

The partnership between Sky River Casino and the Sacramento State Athletics includes:
Sky River Casino will be the Presenting Sponsor for the 2024 and 2026 Causeway Classic. During the game there will be a special recognition for the Sacramento State's Native American College.
Team football helmets will display a Wilton Rancheria tribal design
Sky River Casino will sponsor in-game activities and promotions at all home football games, including free prizes to fans and the "High/Low with Sky River Casino" fun game.
The "Sky River Casino End Zone" will be a VIP area featuring a casino-branded tent with promotional giveaways.
Sky River Casino will promote the partnership inside the casino.
Sky River Casino Tribe buys into Sacramento Republic FC

The Wilton Rancheria Tribe, owner of the Sky River Casino, is the new majority owner of the Sacramento Republic FC professional soccer team. The transaction makes Wilton Rancheria the first Native American Nation to own a majority share in a men's professional sport.
In a press release Nov. 7, Wilton Rancheria made this statement:
"Wilton Rancheria is proud to be the first Tribal Nation to hold majority ownership of a men's professional sports team, an industry where ownership has not traditionally reflected the diversity of its fans or surrounding communities. This milestone not only marks a significant step for Wilton Rancheria but also reinforces Sacramento's dedication to inclusivity and opportunity. Wilton Rancheria has always been a part of Sacramento's history, but this partnership marks a new chapter for us, with an opportunity to help write its future."

An additional statement was made by the Sacramento Republic FC:
"It is an honor to welcome the citizens of Wilton Rancheria to join Republic FC. As we form this new partnership, it has been very clear that the future of the city, the club, and the community that includes the citizens of Wilton Rancheria are immense sources of pride and passion - with a relentless pursuit to protect and grow. Together, we've created a path to building a stadium downtown and we can take a massive step next week."

The press release also stated that Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg is trying to expedite city plans for building a new stadium in The Railyards for the Republic FC soccer team. The project includes Republic Stadium at The Railyards and an adjacent 31-acre development that will double the size of Downtown Sacramento
Sky River Casino Expansion Renderings | August 2024 Update
August 18, 2024
Plans to expand the Sky River Casino into a resort were announced by Wilton Rancheria last June. Phase 1 will build a porte cochere, a new valet service area and a 1,600-vehicle parking garage. Completion will be Summer 2026. Construction is expected to start this year; however, the date has been announced for the official groundbreaking.
Phase 2 will expand the size of the casino and add a 300-room hotel and an event center. Completion will be in 2027.

Sky River Casino announces major expansion 2025-2027

Sky River Casino announced a major expansion project this week to add a 300-room hotel, expanded casino floor, new parking structure, and a multi-use entertainment and meeting venue.

Construction is planned for two phases. The first phase will build a new, larger entrance with a enhanced valet area. These project will be completed and opened in 2025. The second phase will add a 300-room hotel, an expanded casino gaming floor, and an event and entertainment center. These projects will be completed and opened in 2027.

With these expansion plans now firmly in process, the future is even brighter for the Elk Grove community, greater Sacramento area, and for generations of Wilton Rancheria people, the only federally recognized tribe in Sacramento County."
