PLACERVILLE, CA May 25, 2925 - Red Hawk Resort + Casino, owned by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, is advancing a broad expansion program that spans gaming, entertainment, recreation, and regional real estate. As of May 25, 2026, the property is moving forward on a new smoking-permitted gaming pavilion, a 4,600-square-foot bingo hall, and a full transition to a smoke-free main casino floor, while also progressing long-range plans for a 5,000-seat indoor arena and the 50 Oaks Family Golf Complex. The tribe is also evaluating future uses for two downtown Sacramento properties acquired in 2025.
Red Hawk's new gaming pavilion will serve as the casino's exclusive smoking-permitted gaming area, allowing the main floor to become fully smoke-free. The single-story addition will house smoking-permitted slot machines and table games and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2027.
Construction continues on a 4,600-square-foot bingo room on the lower level of the casino. Designed for up to 400 guests, the venue will support daily bingo, special events, and private functions. The opening is currently scheduled for September 2026.
Once the pavilion opens, Red Hawk will complete its transition to a fully smoke-free main casino floor. The move is framed as an investment in guest comfort, air quality, and employee wellness, positioning Red Hawk as a non-smoking casino option in the region.
The Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians is planning a 5,000-seat indoor arena adjacent to Red Hawk Resort + Casino. The arena is envisioned for concerts, sporting events, conventions, and community gatherings, and may be supported by a multi-level parking structure and improved access. The project remains in planning and review, with no formal construction start date announced.
The 50 Oaks Family Golf Complex is planned as a 12-hole, all-par-3 course with a two-level driving range, miniature golf, and an entertainment pavilion. The roughly 42-acre site south of the casino is intended as a family-friendly, outdoor recreation hub. Pre-construction activity is underway, with opening targeted for late spring or early summer 2027, subject to permitting and final schedules.
In 2025, the tribe acquired the former Macy's building and a vacant block along Capitol Mall in downtown Sacramento. As of 2026, no detailed development plans have been publicly announced, and the properties are being held for future tribal economic development opportunities.
These projects build on recent additions such as Red Hawk's 156-room hotel and The Apex entertainment complex. Together, the gaming pavilion, bingo hall, smoke-free transition, 5,000-seat arena, 50 Oaks Family Golf Complex, and downtown Sacramento holdings position Red Hawk Casino as a growing regional hub for gaming, entertainment, and family recreation.
