The proposed $360 million Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Kenosha reached a major milestone this month as federal officialsconfirmed the project has cleared environmental review, advancing the Menominee Tribe's long-running casino effortinto the next phase of federal processing.

The U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) previously released its Draft Environmental Assessment in March, findingno significant environmental impacts across air quality, water resources, traffic, public services, and biological resources.That conclusion has now been reaffirmed in July reporting, marking the strongest forward movement the project has seen in decades.

Federal officials are now reviewing the administrative record and preparing the Final Environmental Assessment andFinding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
