2018 Expansion and Renovations

Earlier in 2018 the new Center Bar opened. Renovations are happening at the Oasis Buffet. The project will update the decor and enlarge the space. A competition date has not been released.

In 2020 a new cultural center and spa will open across from the Palm Springs casino.

Agua Caliente Concourse named at Palm Springs Airport

January 3, 2024

Last week Palm Springs International Airport renamed one of its terminal concourses to the "Agua Caliente Concourse" after the Agua Caliente Casinos and the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.

The City of Palm Springs has agreed to a new partnership that the Agua Caliente the naming rights to the former Regional Jet Concourse aka RJ Concourse.

Although the City of Palm Springs owns and operates Palm Springs International, the airport is not on city land. The airport built on the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation.

Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians own and operate three casinos: Agua Caliente Casino in downtown Palm Springs, Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, and Agua Caliente in Cathedral City.

Agua Caliente Palm Springs: The Spa at Sec-He opens April 4

The Spa at Sec-he at the new Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza will open on Tuesday April 4th. The name "sec-he" means the "sound of boiling water", the original name for the Agua Caliente Hot Mineral Spring, which is believed to be 12,000 years old.

The Spa at Sec-he is 40,000 square feet and features 22 private mineral baths, 15 treatment rooms, two float pod suites, two halotherapy salt caves, and a mineral pool with Jacuzzis. There are also luxury cabanas, a full-service salon, a cafe and a poolside bar.

The Chairman of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians said in a statement:

"The opening of The Spa at Sec-he is a defining moment for the Tribe. The hot spring water means everything to us. It's at the heart of tribal life and has been a cultural resource for us and our ancestors for thousands of years. It's not a myth; these waters are truly healing waters."

Spa at Sec-he is located within the new Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza, which is currently under construction in downtown Palm Springs. The Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza is located at 219 South Palm Canyon Drive (the corner of Indian Canyon Drive and Tahquitz Canyon Way) in downtown Palm Springs.

Agua Caliente Palm Springs: New Cultural Plaza Opens Soon

The new Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza in downtown Palm Springs began construction in 2018, and after delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, is expected to open this spring. The Cultural Plaza will feature the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum, a Gathering Plaza, the Oasis Trail and The Spa at Sec-He. The Spa at Sec-He will open April 4.

The Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza is a 5.8-acre complex dedicated to the history, culture, and traditions of the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians. The main attraction will be the Cultural Museum. The museum is 48,000-square-feet of galleries and exhibits restoring the past to the present. This will be the largest Native American museum in the western part of the U.S..

California officials and tribal leaders have partnered on a new state initiative named "Visit Native California", which will promote tourism for the Agua Caliente Cultural Plaza, as well as other Native American attractions around the state. The Cultural Plaza will be the state's "hub for cultural tourism" in this program.

Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs opens 360 Sports

January 14, 2022

Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs opened a new sports bar on Jan. 7. The venue is named 360 Sports, a sports bar concept already operating at the two other Agua Caliente Casinos in Rancho Mirage and Cathedral City.

360 Sports Bar is 1,200 square feet with live TV monitors, a full-service bar with 16 bar top games, and a food menu featuring pizza, nachos, burgers and sandwiches. The sports bar is located in the space of the former Oasis Buffet.

360 Sports Bar Hours:

Sundays: 10 AM - midnight
Monday-Thursday: 11 AM - midnight
Fridays - Saturdays: 11 AM - 2 AM

Food service is available Sunday-Thursday 11 AM to 8 PM; Fridays - Saturdays 11 AM to midnight.

Agua Caliente Will Build 10,000-seat Downtown Arena

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians have withdrawn as a partner with the NHL Seattle Kraken. A new partnership will build the 10,000-seat arena planned for downtown Palm Spring on a new site north of Palm Desert.

The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians has announced plans to build a 10,000-seat arena in downtown Palm Springs with an opening date in the Fall of 2021. The arena's primary purpose will be live concerts and ice hockey.

The tribe is partnering with NHL Seattle which hope to gain approval for an American Hockey League farm team. The tribe has also partnered with Live Nation Entertainment to provide live concerts, and Oak view Group, a major arena development company

The Agua Caliente Arena will be built on a 16-acre parcel north of the Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs. The site lies between East Alejo Road on the north, Calle Encilia on the west, East Amado Road on the south and Calle El Segundo on the east.

Spa Resort plans casino expansion and new hotel

January 13, 2017

On Thursday an environmental impact report for the proposed expansion plan for the Spa Resort Casino was released. The results showed that the environment would be minimally effected.

The Palm Springs casino is owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.

The tribe is planning on adding 68,000 square feet to the casino. Also adding a new larger hotel. The original hotel closed in 2014 and had 229 guest rooms. The new hotel will have 350 guest rooms. Meeting space of 60,000 square feet will be created. So will additional 50,000 square feet for retail and mixed-use areas. 650 additional parking spots will be added. Also a spa and fitness center.

The property is on 18 acres.

The report was 402 pages. It covered many aspects including water resources, noise from construction, traffic issues, cultural resources, utilities and service usage, and aesthetics. Any issues that need to be addressed have measures listed that will need to be taken.

The tribe states that no significant environmental effects were identified in the report.
