Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas and Guitar Hotel will be the new iconic destination on the Las Vegas Strip when it opens in early 4Q 2027. Hard Rock is replacing The Mirage, which officially closed on July 17, 2024.

The Hard Rock Las Vegas complex will feature a 174,000 square-foot casino with 2,000 slot machines and 212 table games. A new guitar-shaped hotel will add nearly 600 rooms to the existing 3,000 existing Mirage rooms. There will also be more theater capacity, more conference space, and more dining venues

Hard Rock International shut down all operations of The Mirage Hotel & Casino on July 17, 2024, and immediately began a 30-month transformation project to rebrand and expand the property with a larger casino, a 600-foot guitar-shaped hotel, and more entertainment options.

Hard Rock International bought The Mirage for $1.08 billion in Dec. 2021, and assumed operational control of The Mirage in 2023. The property is currently closed and will have not operations open until 2027.

Seminole Tribe of Florida
The Seminole Tribe of Florida acquired the Hard Rock brand in March 2007. Today Hard Rock International owns and operates 14 casinos in the U.S., Canada and the Dominican Republic. The Hard Rock brand has been licensed around the world to 250 restaurants and hotels in 74 countries.

Las Vegas Tribal casinos
Hard Rock is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Hard Rock Las Vegas will be the third tribal-operated casino in Las Vegas. In March 2021 the Mohegan Tribe opened the Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. That casino closed at the end of 2024. Then in May 2021 the San Manuel Indians from California purchased the Palms Casino Resort. A fourth tribe, the MHA Nation owns 23 acres of vacant land across from Luxor on the Las Vegas Strip and plans to build a casino, hotel, convention center, theater, and perhaps a sports stadium sometime in the future.

These will be the main features of Hard Rock Las Vegas compared to The Mirage:

Casino
Slot machines will be 2,000 (increased 1,164) and table games 212 (increased 161). These numbers include a new Strip casino with 200 slots and 12 table games. The total size of the casino gaming floor will expand from 94,000 square-feet to 174,000 square-feet.

Hotel
A guitar-shaped hotel will be built along the Strip on the site of the Mirage volcano. The new hotel will add 596 new rooms bringing the total rooms to 3,640. All existing Mirage rooms and villas will be totally renovated.

Theater Seats
Total theater seats will be 6,265 (increased 2,987)

Convention square footage will be 283,000 (increased 83,000 sq-ft)
