Sports betting is coming to Mole Lake Casino in Crandon, Wisconsin if the U.S. Interior Department approves an amended gaming compact signed last week between Gov. Tony Evers and the Sokaogon Chippewa Community. The Department has 45 days to accept or reject the agreement, which will allow the tribe to operate mobile and retail sports betting on its reservation land.
Gov. Evers has signed similar sports betting agreements with the Oneida Nation, the Las Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians, the Forest County Potawatomi, and the St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin. There are 11 federally recognized tribes in Wisconsin, which own and operate Indian gaming casinos.
