Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am Begins Two-Month Countdown to Nov. 15 Opening in Tucson
The Pascua Yaqui Tribe's third gaming property will feature 928 slot machines, 24 table games, a sportsbook, dining options and approximately 500 new jobs.
TUCSON, Ariz. - September 15, 2026 — Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am has entered the final two-month countdown to its scheduled Nov. 15, 2026, opening as the Pascua Yaqui Tribe prepares to welcome guests to its newest gaming property in Tucson.
Located at 1055 W. Grant Road near Interstate 10, the 153,480-square-foot casino is being developed on Old Pascua Community land. It will become the Tribe's third gaming property and the first tribal casino located within Tucson city limits.
The approaching opening represents a major milestone for the Pascua Yaqui Tribe following the property's January 2025 groundbreaking. Casino officials are now focused on completing interior work, installing and certifying gaming equipment, hiring employees and preparing the facility for opening day.
The new Tucson casino is expected to employ approximately 500 people, expanding the Casino Del Sol enterprise while creating additional economic opportunities for the Tribe and the surrounding community.

The countdown follows an Aug. 11 media preview that provided reporters with an early look inside the property. The tour offered a view of the casino floor, dining areas, cultural artwork and architectural details while construction crews continued preparing the building for its November opening.
During the preview, casino officials highlighted the property's combination of modern gaming amenities, Sonoran Desert design and cultural features honoring the history and traditions of the Pascua Yaqui people.
Vahi Taa'am, pronounced "vah-hee tah-ahm," means "Three Suns" in Yoeme, the language of the Pascua Yaqui people. The name symbolizes light and a bright future for the Tribe, the surrounding community and future casino guests.
Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am Amenities
When Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am opens, guests will have access to a 52,252-square-foot gaming floor featuring 928 slot machines and 24 table games. The casino will also include a dedicated High Limit Lounge and bar-top gaming at the Center Bar.
Sports bettors will be able to visit SolSports, the property's dedicated sportsbook. The sportsbook will provide a central location for guests interested in wagering on major sporting events while watching games in a casino setting.
Food and beverage amenities will include OP Grill and Sewa Market. The collection of casino bars and dining options is intended to provide convenient choices for guests seeking a meal, beverage or break from the gaming floor.
Visitors will also have access to a four-level parking garage with approximately 1,004 spaces. The garage will support the property's location near the Grant Road interchange with Interstate 10, providing convenient access for Tucson residents and travelers passing through Southern Arizona.
Pascua Yaqui Culture Shapes Casino Design
Cultural identity is incorporated throughout Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am, beginning with the property's signature 26-foot copper dome. Visible from Interstate 10, the dome evokes the image of the sun rising above the desert while also recognizing Arizona's copper heritage.
Inside the casino, guests will encounter vaulted domed ceilings, patterned terrazzo flooring, wood accents, decorative archways and rustic ironwork. These architectural elements combine the visual character of the Sonoran Desert with references to Pascua Yaqui culture.
One of the casino's most prominent artistic features is a 24,000-square-foot mural covering the interior dome ceiling. Created by Tucson artist Joe Pagac, the mural depicts the Arizona sky and is complemented by programmable lighting designed to transition from midday colors to the amber tones of a Sonoran Desert sunset.
Guests entering the casino will also see Aniam Yo'orine, a mural by contemporary Yaqui artist Marcelino C. Flores III, a lifelong member of Tucson's Old Pascua Community. The title means "Respect the Worlds" in Yoeme, and the work draws inspiration from Pascua Yaqui oral tradition, the Sonoran Desert and the five worlds central to Yoeme spiritual life.
Approximately 500 Casino Jobs Expected
Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am is expected to create approximately 500 jobs in Southern Arizona. Hiring and employee training are among the operational priorities as the property moves closer to opening day.
The new positions will support gaming operations, food and beverage service, guest services, security, facilities and other departments needed to operate the casino.
Tribal leaders have emphasized that the project represents more than an expansion of the Casino Del Sol brand. Revenue generated by the Tribe's gaming enterprises supports tribal government services and community investments, including education, housing and services for elders.
A New Tucson Gaming Destination
The Grant Road location places Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am near central Tucson and one of the region's busiest transportation corridors. Its location near Interstate 10 is expected to make the casino accessible to local guests as well as visitors traveling through Southern Arizona.
Vahi Taa'am will join the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's existing Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun properties, expanding the Tribe's gaming presence into the Tucson urban core.
With the Nov. 15 opening approaching, the focus is shifting from construction milestones to final preparations. Gaming equipment, restaurants, employee training and guest services must all be ready before the first visitors enter the new casino.
For the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, the opening of Casino Del Sol Vahi Taa'am will mark the beginning of a new chapter in its longstanding economic development strategy and continued investment in the Tucson community.
