Hard Rock Guitar Hotel Las Vegas | Dec. 2025 Update

Construction of the new Hard Rock guitar-shaped hotel tower in Las Vegas is a visually stunning sight to passersby on the Las Vegas Strip. Crews can be seen adding steel framework and installing glass panels.

As a casual observer, the steel framing appears to be completed for the first 25 floors of what will become a 36-floor hotel. Some sections of the glass paneling have been installed up to the 14th floor. When finished in late 2027, the guitar-shaped hotel will be 660 feet tall and feature 596 guest rooms

Hard Rock Las Vegas Construction - Dec. 19, 2025

The Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas and Guitar Hotel are currently on schedule to open in late 2027. Here is the timeline and milestones for construction:

• July 2024 - The Mirage volcano was demolished and cleared.

• Early 2025 - Concrete pourings began for the guitar-shaped tower.

• Mid 2025 - Structural framework of the hotel began.

• Late 2025 - Glass installation is currently underway.

• Late 2027 - Completion of construction and the grand opening.

The Hard Rock Casino Las Vegas will have about 3,600 total hotel rooms. This will include the new guitar tower and newly renovated rooms of the former Mirage. The Hard Rock casino will be twice as large as the Mirage and feature 2,000 slot machines, 212 table games, a poker room and a high-limits gaming area.

The huge Guitar Tower at the new Hard Rock Las Vegas will be an iconic landmark that transforms the Las Vegas Strip. The tower will stand 660 feet high along side the Las Vegas Strip and feature 600 new hotel rooms and suites. The opening date will be in late 2027.

QUICK FACTS

• Hard Rock Las Vegas will operate under license to Hard Rock International, which is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

• Hard Rock International purchased the Mirage for $1.075 billion in December 2022. The transformation costs from Mirage to Hard Rock are estimated at $4.3 billion.

• The guitar hotel tower is currently under construction on the exact site of the former volcano at the Mirage. The hotel will be curve-shaped like a guitar and feature illuminated strings.

  - Height will be 660-700 feet tall.

  - Rooms will be 600-650 bringing the total rooms to 3,600.

  - Opening date is targeted for late 2027.

• Also, the Hard Rock gaming floor will be expanded to 175,000 sq-ft, which will be nearly double the Mirage's 90,000 sq-ft.

• A pedestrian bridge will connect to the Venetian.

Hard Rock Las Vegas' Guitar Hotel Taking Shape | Update Oct 2025

The bottom shape of the Hard Rock guitar hotel is becoming recognizable to passersby at the Hard Rock construction site along the Las Vegas Strip. The hotel's steel framework is slowly rising and the first blue-glass windows have been installed on the lower levels.

The hotel is scheduled to open in two years from now. The 660 foot tall tower is under construction on the site of the former Mirage volcano. It will be a 36-story structure shaped like an electric guitar with illuminated strings.

Hard Rock Las Vegas auctioning off art from The Mirage

Hard Rock Las Vegas Hotel & Casino is auctioning off more than 300 pieces of artwork from the former Mirage. Items include bronze mermaid statues and brass dolphins, glass artwork by Dale Chihuly, paintings, sculptures, and memorabilia from The Mirage's legendary volcano and Siegfried & Roy show.

Some of the Mirage's iconic items will be donated to The Neon Museum, including the giant archway sign and Siegfried & Roy statue. Some of the unsold pieces will also be donated to the museaum.

Hard Rock Las Vegas | One year since the closing of the Mirage

The Mirage officially closed its doors one year ago today on July 17, 2024 to make way for its transformation into the Hard Rock Las Vegas. Demolition at the Mirage began within 24 hours of its closure.

Since then, the Hard Rock redevelopment projects of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas and the Guitar Hotel Las Vegas have pursued an aggressive schedule to be completed in 2027. The previous projection of Spring 2027 is now changed to early fourth quarter in 2027. The change was recently announced by Hard Rock Las Vegas President Joe Lupo.

The construction framework for Hard Rock's future guitar-shaped hotel is starting to rise on the site of The Mirage's famous volcano. The hotel will be nearly 700-feet tall with 660 rooms and open in early 4Q 2027.

Here is our latest photo update on the Hard Rock Las Vegas Guitar Tower construction project scheduled to open on the Strip in early 4Q 2027. This week's photos show the foundation for the 36-story Guitar Tower has been completed on the site of the former Mirage volcano, the front podium columns are up, and the first two floors and columns is nearly in place.

Construction crews are working 24/7 to complete the $4-$5 billion Mirage-to-Hard Rock transformation. The project is on budget and on schedule to open two years from now.

Hard Rock Las Vegas Construction Update | March 2025

March 16, 2025

Construction of the new Hard Rock Las Vegas is in its early stages. Demolition crews removed the famous Mirage volcano, and foundation crews have begun erecting pilings on that site for the future 660-foot guitar-shaped tower.

Crews can be seen stripping windows and cleaning the exterior of The Mirage hotel tower to remove advertisements of "The Beatles LOVE" and Cirque du Soleil. This is a beginning stage of major design transformations to the former Mirage hotel tower, casino, and pool areas.

The $4-$5 billion construction and transformation project is currently on-schedule for the 2027 opening, according to a Hard Rock Las Vegas executive.

Hard Rock will be adding new casino areas, retail spaces, restaurants, and a nightclub. When the 3-year transformation is completed in 2027, Hard Rock Casino will be nearly twice the size of the former Mirage casino (174,000 sq-ft vs. 94,000 sq-ft).
