Hard Rock Las Vegas Guitar Hotel Construction Update - Structural Frame Complete as Facade and Interior Work Drive Hard
LAS VEGAS - June 4, 2026 - The Hard Rock Las Vegas Guitar Hotel has reached a major construction milestone with the completion of its 42-story structural frame, marking the end of the tower's vertical build and the beginning of an accelerated finishing phase. The topping-off ceremony, held May 1, confirmed the guitar tower has reached its full height of approximately 660 feet, making it one of the most distinctive new structures on the Strip.

Hard Rock executives, construction partners, and Clark County officials attended the event, which capped nearly 19 months of vertical construction. With the frame complete, crews have now shifted to the next stage of development, including facade installation, LED guitar-string lighting systems, and interior build-out.
Facade and interior construction accelerating
Recent independent footage from local Las Vegas videographers shows rapid progress across the tower:
- Blue-glass facade panels are rising steadily up the structure.
- Steel shaping on the tower's west side is now visible.
- Interior mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems are being installed.
- Guest-room framing has begun inside the guitar tower.
- LED string lighting mounts are being prepared along the tower's front face.
These updates confirm the project has moved firmly into the high-activity phase that will continue through 2026 and into 2027.
Transformation of the former Mirage
The Guitar Hotel is the centerpiece of Hard Rock International's full redevelopment of the former Mirage property. Once complete, the project will include:
- Approximately 3,700 total rooms across the resort.
- A 175,000 sq ft casino floor.
- More than 200,000 sq ft of meeting and event space.
- The 5,000-seat Hard Rock Live theater.
- A workforce of approximately 6,000 employees at opening.
The Guitar Hotel itself will contain an estimated 650-675 rooms inside the guitar body and neck.
Opening timeline
Hard Rock continues to target a late-2027 opening, with interior theming, systems integration, and full-property build-out dominating the next 12-18 months. The topping-off milestone keeps the project on schedule.
