Immokaldee Casino unveils new Vegas-style slots

IMMOKALEE, FL - As reported by the Naples Daily News: "Las Vegas-style slots have arrived at the Seminole Immokalee Casino.

"The ceremonious first pull will be Thursday, accompanied by food, fun and other entertainment. The local debut of Vegas-style slots will also serve as the first of many significant changes — table games, more jobs, a casino expansion and possibly a hotel with the Hard Rock label — coming to Immokalee.

"The current facility on Immokalee Road could one day mirror the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Hollywood, where visitors have been cashing in on the Vegas-slots since they were introduced several months back.

"...The new slots differ from the casino's other gaming machines in that winning is not controlled by a bingo game. On the old machines, the house issues randomly-generated bingo numbers to all the machines at once. If the machine gets a bingo, the reels show a win, even though it was the bingo game that determined the win. In essence, the gamblers were competing against each other.

"...Another major difference with the new machines is their trademark lever — the bingo machines aren't one-arm bandits. Users can pull the new handles if they want to, but buttons can also be used to make the reels spin.

"...The new slots fall under a legal gambling category known as Class III, because they allow players to compete against the house..."
