Kansas Star Casino begins Move to Permanent Building

At midnight the Kansas Star Casino will close temporarily. This is to allow for
the casino to move from the current building, the to new permanent building.
In 2011 the casino originally opened. A temporary building was put in place to
operate the casino from until the new building could be completed. Plans for the
original building are to turn it into an event arena.
Guests will be able to start using a section of the new gaming floor starting
Wednesday. The move is scheduled to be completed by December 21.
Since opening the casino, Sumner County has benefited. In 2013, the county will
be able to lower property taxes by 30%. This is due to the money that is
received from fees and taxes paid by the casino.
