Local Charities receive $147 Thousand from The Kansas Star Mulvane

The new Kansas Star Casino hosted a preview for selected guests on December 16.
The preview for to allow for a sneak peek at the new casino and also to test the
internal operations for the state’s gaming regulators.
During the preview, 3000 guests were invited to gamble at the casino. The
casino’s revenue that was earned on that day was donated to charities.
Charity groups included Mulvane’s public schools, scholarships for women earning
their GED, the Kansas Food Bank Warehouse, a group that benefits the
developmentally disabled, Music Theater of Wichita, breast cancer survivors and
activists network, and a memorial for veterans of conflicts since 1991.
In all, the charities will be receiving $147k from the casino.
The Kansas Star Mulvane opens officially to the public on Tuesday.
