"Buffalo Thunder Resort" Opens 2008New "Buffalo Thunder Resort" Opens August 2008 SANTA FE - The Pueblo of Pojoaque, a small New Mexico tribe with only 350 members, will open New Mexico's largest casino hotel in August along U.S. 84/285 about twelve miles north of Santa Fe. The resort is named the Buffalo Thunder Resort will surpass the Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort and Spa as the largest resort in New Mexico with the most guest rooms. Hilton Hotels has contracted to manage the resort. This is a $280 million project consisting of an 80,000-square-foot casino with 1,200 slot machines, 22 table games, a 10-table poker room, and the featured Mark Miller's Red Sage Restaurant. A 5-story structure with 390 hotel rooms is now under construction. The resort will also include a golf course, a 8,000-square-foot family recreation area, 12,700-square-foot shopping area, two uniquely designed swimming pools, spa services, restaurants, and 66,000 square feet of meeting space.
