SAN FRANCISCO - The Richmond City Council met Monday night and approved a
two-month extension for negotiating the Point Molate Indian casino agreement
with the Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians and the Upstream Point Molate LLC. The
extension was requested by the casino and is intended to provide more time for
all parties to negotiate the finer points of the issue.
The 240,000-square-foot casino will cost $1.2 billion to build and will include
a casino, hotel, conference center, shopping and dining.
The two casino groups have already paid $15 million towards the land purchase
and will pay another $35 million upon the finalization of the deal with the
city.
