Casino City Press has published its Indian Gaming Industry Report for 2008-2009. The report includes 2007 nationwide statistics.
Key findings:

o 2007 Indian gaming revenues were $26.5 billion.

o 2007 Indian gaming revenues grew 5% (down from 15% in 2005 and10% in 2006).

o California and Connecticut generated 39% of 2007 total Indian gaming revenues.
o Most growth in Indian gaming revenues were Wyoming (66.5%) and Alaska (32.2%).

o Indian gaming continued to contribute economic output, jobs, and wages to the U.S. economy.

The report was authored by Dr. Alan Meister, an economist with Analysis Group, Inc.
Dr. Meister commented about the 5% growth rate in 2007: "Amidst a struggling economy, Indian gaming experienced modest growth in 2007. The slower growth was attributable to the slowdown in the general economy, as well as public policies designed to restrict the supply of Indian gaming."
