On Wednesday, the Mississippi Gaming Commission will hold a meeting on how the gaming industry is recovering 10 years after Hurricane Katrina.

Southern Mississippi was hit hard by the Category 5 hurricane. Many of the casinos in the area were destroyed. Most of those have been rebuilt.

Attending the meeting will be several influential people in the state's gaming industry. Alan Godfrey is the Director of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. Jerry St. Pe is the former chairman of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. Biloxi banker Chevis Swetman and attorney Michael Cavanaugh will also be attending.

The meeting is open to the public and scheduled to take place at 7pm at the IP Casino Resort and Spa.
