Coushatta Casino is an Indian gaming casino owned by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana. The casino is located 23 miles north of I-10 on US Hwy. 165 (Exit 44) 5 miles north of Kinder, Louisiana.

Hotel Expansion 2024-2025

Coushatta Casino Resort broke ground on a $150 million luxury hotel on May 20,2024. Construction will take up to 18 months and open sometime in 2025.

The new hotel will be eight stories tall with 204 guest rooms. When it opens in 2025, the total number of hotel rooms at Coushatta Casino Resort will approximate 1,000.

Coushatta Casino Resort breaks ground on luxury hotel today!

The Coushatta Tribe celebrated the groundbreaking for a new $150 million luxury hotel today. The 8-story hotel will open in 2025 and feature 204 rooms, including 100 suites. The total number of hotel rooms at Coushatta Casino Resort will then total 1,010.

The ceremony was attended by Coushatta tribal officials, Coushatta Casino Resort managers, and executives from the architectural design and construction companies. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the Seven Clans statue in the Sculpture Garden in front of the Seven Clans Hotel.

"As construction commences, we are excited about all the new venues and upgrades that we will be able to offer our guests, starting with this new hotel. Our goal is to offer our players an elevated gaming experience, and that includes top-quality lodgings and high-end dining options."

When construction of the new hotel is completed, Coushatta Casino Resort will begin a new renovation project of the entire casino and restaurants.

Coushatta Casino is located 40 miles northeast of Lake Charles in Kinder, LA. The 108,000 square-foot casino has 2,000 slot machines, 55 table games, bingo, a poker room, off-track betting, and The Rez Spoortsbook.

Coushatta Casino Resort is owned and operated by the Coushatta Tribe.

2020 Best Casinos in the Native American South

The 2020 Best of Gaming Awards have been presented to the top Native American casinos located in our southern states. The major categories are Best Casino, Best Hotel and Best Overall Gaming Resort. This is the 25th anniversary of these prestigious awards published by Casino Player Magazine.

Coushatta Casino Resort celebrates 25th Anniversary

Coushatta Casino Resort celebrated its 25th anniversary last week. Tribal leaders recognized it as an important time in history for the tribe, the casino and the community.

The Louisiana casino resort is one of the top 10 largest private employers in the state having an employment level of 2,200 people.

Tribal Chairman David Sickey said:

"The Coushatta tribe and tribal council believe it's very important to recognize this very important milestone in the tribe's history, prosperity, and growth.

"On average, we've maintained employment levels around 2,200 people over the course of two decades.

"You're experiencing a wonderful example of what focusing on the right priorities can do and how adhering to good sound business principles can do for the success and prosperity of any organization - not just Coushatta Casino Resort.

"We're very proud of the fact that a small Native American tribe that numbers less than 1,000 people in Elton, Louisiana, can achieve so much over an extended period of time."

Coushatta Casino Resort Wins Best Local Casino Award

Coushatta Casino Resort was founded in 1995 by the Coushatta Indian Tribe in Louisiana. Since that time the casino flourished and has been successful. Recently the Coushatta Casino Resort earned the title of Best Local Casino.

The Coushatta Casino Resort offers 100,000 square feet for the gaming floor. There are three different hotels for guests. They are The Grand Hotel, Seven Clans Hotel, and Coushatta Inn. A resort dedicated for RV camping. There is also a very large golf course and other options for entertainment and recreation.

Nearly 3,000 people are employed by the Coushatta Casino Resort. The surrounding area benefits from the resort through tourism and businesses that offer support services to the casino resort.

The casino has helped pay for major changes to the area. This includes improvements made to utilities. This helped benefit the lives of tribal members and the surrounding community. The casino resort has also made it possible for the tribe to offer better opportunities for education.

In 1973 the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana received federal recognition. In 1995 the resort first opened. Since that time, they have strived to bring new updates and renovate as often as possible.

The Coushatta Casino Resort has aimed to treat their employees well and satisfied with their workplace. For the guests the casino has strived to provide year round entertainment, concerts, and festivals. The golf course is open to the public for anyone that wants to play. These are some of the reasons why the Coushatta Casino Resort was awarded the title Best Local Casino for 2018.
