The $200 million WarHorse Casino Lincoln is under construction at the Lincoln Racecourse. Construction will be completed in phases following the groundbreaking July 12, 2022. The first phase will open in September 2022 with a temporary casino featuring a 9,000-square-foot gaming area, 440 slot machines, sports betting, and both simulcast and live racing. The second phase will open in September 2023 with a 220-room hotel, steakhouse restaurant, and event center.
The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and the Nebraska Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association (HBPA) have partnered to build a $200 million casino at the Lincoln Racecourse in Lincoln, Nebraska. The casino will be named WarHorse Casino Lincoln and operated by the Winnebago Tribe's WarHorse Gaming LLC.
In addition to Warhorse Casino in Lincoln, there will be two other casinos built and managed by WarHorse Gaming LLC. These are Warhorse Casino Omaha in Omaha, NE, and Warhorse Casino Atokad in South Sioux City, NE.

The Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and the Nebraska Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association broke ground yesterday for construction of the $200 million WarHorse Casino Lincoln. The multi-phase construction project will add a casino, hotel, restaurants and a parking garage to Lincoln Racecourse.
Construction of WarHorse Casino Lincoln is expected to up to 18 months. The first phase will open a casino this September reaturing 445 slot machines, sports betting, and simulcast and live racing. The second phase will open a hotel, event center and restaurant in September 2023.

WarHorse Gaming filed official applications on Thursday with the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission to build and operate racetrack casinos in Omaha and Lincoln. The filings immediately followed the commission's approval of a casino license fee structure passed as the final regulatory provision to start the application process. The commission will now take 30-60 day to review the applications, and if approved, WarHorse will start construction immediately on both casinos.
The WarHorse Gaming applications were the first in the state to be filed under the new gaming laws approved by voters in Nov. 2020. Additional applications are expected to follow for Atokad Park in South Sioux City, Fonner Park in Grand Island, and Harrah's Casino in Hastings.

A new $200M casino will be built by the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska at the Lincoln Race Course in Lincoln, NE. Some initial casino gambling will be introduced at the racetrack by the second half of 2021, and full casino operations will begin in 2022.
The full-gaming casino will take 9-12 months to build. When finished, the original gaming building will be converted to sports betting, and the new building will open with a large gaming floor and a restaurant. The number of slot machines and gaming tables will announced after licensing and approvals are completed. A hotel is planned soon afterwards.
